Michigan Reunion 2010

The reunion in Michigan was held on July 31, it rained all morning but by the bell time it had quit. I was a great day with lots of great food and wonderful desserts. they held anothe auction to raise money for expenses. Briggs was the auctineer and raised 400.00 dollars. Since he is the oldest grandson, he can harrass his cousin into buying more stuff for more money. It is more fun than just taking up a collection. Our house as we drive by in the old car parade.

Tennessee

Even though I am totally against smoking, I was facinated by the fields of tobacco that we have growing all around us here in Tenn. I keep watching for how they cut it and process it is the drying sheds. It doesn't smell in the fields, but the leaves feel kind of greasy. I hope to find someone at one of the sheds and see if they will let me look in.

Michigan

It has been a long time since I posted on my blog, I have been a very busy grandma, this past year. Have been to 4 grandkids birthdays and to visit with Briggs in Tn. and now I am in Michigan taking care of our place and really enjoying our home. Just wish Briggs could be here too. He will retire from the union on the last of this month, but will continue to work for this job in Tn. It is good work and he really likes it. Don't know what we will do when it is finished and not sure when that will be. But I will continue to stay with him except short visits to Mi. And then when April and Paul travel to China to get Logan, I will go and stay with Sophie. And yes they are finally getting their child from china, and it is a little boy, he is around 3 years of age and a real cutie as you can see.

Bluebonnets and a Rose

some Texas bluebonnets. Maw Susan picked her a beautiful rose to hold. It was fun. She was so cute.

Kalyn turns 1

Well it is time to update. Kalyn has turned 1 and had a great party, she was so cute in her ladybug tutu.

Kalyn in her walker that Maw Susan had to hunt and hunt for...Took her about 10 minutes and she had it mastered. Of course she loves to chase down her big brother and the dog.

Maya's 5th

More pictures of my beautiful grand children..First one is Maya and her Mommy waiting for Chuckie Cheese to come out, she wasn't quite sure of him. Next is Lessy and Grandma Judy and Aunt Liz, then it is Levi making sure that Maya gets the candles on just right. The kids had fun, but the adults all got headaches from the noise.

Short timer

Well it is getting closer to the time I go back to Michigan. I have been here since the first of November and will leave sometime after May 15th. I am sure my children are ready to not have grandma around for awhile, I know they like the help, but not the house guest. I have truly enjoyed the grandkids. They are growing so fast. Kalyn is talking up a storm and Sophie is walking just about everywhere, just several steps at a time, but she is into everything anyway. And Matthew is going to go to school next year, kindergarten, wow, hard to beleive. He had his 5th birthday as did Maya, both are so smart and will probably shock the teachers at their schools this fall. Kalyn's 1st birthday in going to be the 24th of April and Sophies 1st will be on the 8th of May. It should be a blast. Here are a few recent pictures of the kids...

More pictures of the grandkids and the Texas snow. This was Christmas day at the Padilla's. that was the first snow started Christmas eve and most all Christmas celebrating was put on hold, since most of us were somewhere else.
Sophie and her cousin Leesy. Maw Susan had been on a quest to find a walker for Kalyn and I finally did. And it only took about 10 minutes for her to learn how to go, and now she is everywhere. And she loves it.

SNOW IN TEXAS

Yes Texas has had 3 big snow storms in Texas.
This is Lake Hawkins where we have our camper, this was in February. We had about 6-7 inches there. Then Sophie and Mommy and Daddy in Grand Prairie had about 10 inches. The other kids in Ft Worth had a little over 12 inches. Haven't seen pictures of their snow yet.

It was beautiful, but this Texas girl is so ready for spring and warm weather.

Well here are some pictures from Christmas, 2009 on the Saturday before Christmas, April held the daughters christmas, mine and his and all the grandkids, all the little ones made gingerbread houses, we had pizza dilivered and then opened gifts.
Briggs, Sophie and me, April, Leesy,Sophie and Maya, Kelly and Kalyn working on her house. Levi got a puppy for Christmas and she came too, her name is Gertie girl. Wrangler Aprils dog loved her, at on time during the day we had Sophie and Leesy asleep in Sophies crib it was so cute. April and I gave Maya some dress up clothes and shoes, I think it was her favorite gift.
